Crowdtap interviewed 59 content creators to find out the ins and outs of influencer marketing for influencers. One of the most interesting questions was: "What most motivates you to work with a brand". With 44% answering that the opportunity is relevant to their audience and another 17% answering that the opportunity gives them the chance to provide an exclusive or new experience for their audience. Showing that influencers are always thinking about their audience and how they will react to the partnership.

4. Google Searches for The Phrase Influencer Marketing Have Gone Up by 1500% Since 2015

This shows more and more people are searching about influencer marketing. Meaning that there is a growing interest in the industry. Searches have jumped from 3 900 monthly searches in 2015 to 70 000 monthly searches in 2019. Let’s wait and see what happens in 2020 but we can all see that the number is growing every year.

8. Influencer Marketing Is Likely to Become a $15 Billion-Dollar Industry by 2022

The industry has continued to grow each year. In 2016 it was worth $1.7 billion. At the end of 2019 it was valued at around $8 billion. So, if it continues to grow at this pace it will easily become a $10 billion-dollar industry by the end of 2020 and by 2022 it will be worth $15 billion. 9. Instagram Is The Home of Influencer Marketing, with 87,6% of Marketers Running Influencer Marketing Campaigns Mainly on Instagram

According to influencer marketing agency Relatable, Instagram beats out the other social media platforms by quite a margin when it comes to what platforms marketers prefer to run influencer marketing campaigns on. More than double second placed Facebook which had 42%. This is thanks to Instagram’s younger demographic and simple picture, video and stories interface which leads to high engagement rates. Instagram posts and stories are widely regarded as the most effective formats for influencer marketing in the industry.

11. There Are Four Types of Influencers on The Internet

Depending on the number of followers, influencers can be divided into four groups: 

  • Mega influencers – over 1 million followers
  • Macro influencers – in between 100k followers and 1 million followers
  • Micro influencers – in between 10k followers and 100k followers
  • Nano influencers – in between 1k followers and 10k followers
